Mindfulness Session 1 - Breathing and Focus

The following is the first in a series of mindfulness practices designed to support our journey to optimal health. This beginning session will help you understand the difference between aerobic/cardio breathing and mindful breathing. Breathing is the most important aspect of mindfulness. Therefore, anyone can engage in mindfulness practice.

The second concept from this session is the importance of focused attention. There are so many things in our world that demand our attention. Mindfulness requires you to focus on your breath, your body, your heart, your mind, and your soul. During these few minutes, you can focus on yourself!

Before starting this class, dress comfortably, find a spot on the floor with a yoga mat or a comfortable chair, and place your feet on a stool or floor. This session lasts 33 minutes, so be sure to set out time for you. Be kind to yourself throughout the class. Mindfulness takes practice.

I hope you enjoy this session. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the comments section below.
