Finding peace and presence through nature, whether in Costa Rica or wherever you are
There is a saying here that I have come to love.
We stay lost.
At first, it sounds unsettling.
Lost is not something we are taught to be.
We are taught to plan, to move forward, to stay on track.
But here, as the sun slowly sets over the ocean and the sky turns orange and gold, something changes.
Lost takes on a different meaning.
It becomes permission.
Permission to let go of the timelines.
Permission to release the pressure.
Permission to step away from always thinking about what comes next.
In a world that tells us to always be productive, connected, and striving, choosing to stay lost is a quiet but powerful choice.
It is choosing presence over pressure.
In Costa Rica, or wherever you may find yourself, nature has a way of inviting us into this space.
The rhythm of the waves.
The stillness of the trees.
The warmth of the sun as it dips below the horizon.
Nothing is rushing.
Nothing is asking anything of you.
And in that space, you begin to remember something important.
You do not have to earn this moment.
You do not have to prove anything here.
You are allowed to simply be.
Sometimes, self-care is not about doing more.
It is about letting go.
Letting go of expectations.
Letting go of the need to control.
Letting go of the constant noise that follows us, even into the most beautiful places.
Instead, let yourself be fully present with what is right in front of you.
A sunset.
A conversation.
A quiet moment beside someone you love.
Or even a quiet moment alone.
We stay lost in the beauty of it all.
In the colours of the sky.
In the feeling of the air.
In the simplicity of the moment.
When we do this, we realize we are not really lost at all.
We are found.
