"Nobody who ever gave their best regretted it!" G. Halas
In the world of cancer, today is game day! My hard work, practice, and dedication will be measured today! Everything I've done so far is hopefully leading me to winning the game! If not, I know that I tried my best!
As an experienced player, coach, and teacher, I know and have taught students that one game does not determine the entire season. It defines how I move forward in this game against one of the most challenging opponents in the Western World: Cancer.
When I work with new teachers, I teach them the importance of skill development, practice, and an ongoing commitment to teaching all students. In education, we call this assessment for learning. These are practice sessions and check-ins to guide us on how to proceed with each lesson.
Assessment of learning is a game day in education. Whether on stage, online or in the exam room, you are the only one holding the pen. Teachers, teaching assistants, family and friends stand back and cheer you on!
I know I am facing an opponent more significant than any opponent I have faced. But I'm up for the challenge. It’s a marathon, day by day, step by step, helping me stay one step ahead of my opponent. The work is done, the work continues, and I’m ready to head to my oncologist’s office!
Thank you to everyone who has joined me on my journey, cheering me on and sharing their experiences to support my optimal health. I thank you all for your contributions to my cancer marathon.
When I leave the office, win or lose, I'm ready to get out there and practice some more. I will continue to study, practice, and commit to this marathon! My inner voice will continue to chant, "You've got this!"
You are an amazing, strong, inspiring woman!!! You got this!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are so inspiring!! And good or bad news today, your tribe is behind you! Always ❤️❤️❤️
